Aachen region special-purpose association

The Aachen Region is an intermunicipal association that connects the city of Aachen and the Aachen urban region with the districts of Düren, Euskirchen and Heinsberg. As an interface between administration, business, science and civil society, it promotes strategic cooperation across municipal boundaries – including in the areas of health, civil protection and digitalisation. Its central location in the border triangle and long-standing network of authorities, emergency services and universities make the region an ideal partner for the practical testing of innovative disaster control solutions.
